50 Cent Sees Pontiac Vehicle & MTV Reality Show Canned.

50 Cent suffered another setback today when General Motors announced that it was scrapping plans to release a Pontiac G8 sports truck sponsored by the G-Unit label head.
Automotive News, an industry trade publication contained a statement from Pontiac spokesman on the cancellation. Jim Hopson, Pontiac's communications manager, cited the cancellation as part of an ongoing review in the wake of GMs financial problems and stated that the truck did not fit the vision for the company.
While the 50 Cent G8 got the ax, Pontiac plans to produce other versions of the G8 vehicle.
The 50 Cent-sponsored sport truck, a two-door vehicle with a six-foot bed, similar to an El Camino, was unveiled last March at an auto show in New York.
GMs cancellation seems to end a long-running relationship with the rapper. 50 Cent previously expressed his love for Pontiacs as his "Amusement Park" video featured two Pontiac concept cars. In 2007, 50 showed off an original Pontiac concept car at the SEMA auto show.
This announcement comes on the heels of several other recent setbacks for 50 Cent. In response to falling prices in the real estate market, the rapper was forced to dramatically slash the price on his Connecticut mansion.
According to reports, the price on the 51,000 square foot home was cut by $4 million. The new asking price is $14.5 million.
In addition to the home, MTV executives decided not to renew 50 Cent's reality show, "The Money and the Power".
The show, closely modeled after Donald Trump's, "The Apprentice", was harshly criticized by the real estate mogul, who predicted the failure before the show aired.
“It will fail because he's not Trump”, Trump stated. “He just did a show. It was a copy of The Apprentice.”
On the music front, things are looking up for 50. He recently reunited with platinum hit makers Eminem and Dr. Dre for Slim Shady's "Crack a Bottle". 50 also released the Dre-produced "I Get It In" from his forthcoming album, "Before I Self Destruct".
